LONDON: US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and British Foreign Secretary David Miliband pressed Kenya’s political leaders to “engage in a spirit of compromise” in a statement issued on Wednesday. “We call on all political leaders to engage in a spirit of compromise that puts the democratic interests of Kenya first.”

Britons go ahead with holiday plans to Kenya

About 29,000 Britons visit the country every year, a quarter of whom head for resorts and safari parks over the Christmas period. No cancellations of holidays or flights have been reported but the Foreign Office advised holidaymakers to stay indoors and seek local advice before traveling.
